Darren Kimura is President and CEO of AI Squared, a Silicon Valley AI integration company backed by NEA and a spin-out from the DOD. A three-decade operator who has scaled and exited multiple technology companies including LiveAction, ZEDEDA, and Solar Power Technology. Kimura is a PhD (In Progress) from Claremont Graduate University, Stanford Graduate School of Business alum and a monthly AI contributor on ABC7 News Bay Area.

Biography

Darren Kimura is the President and Chief Executive Officer of AI Squared, the Silicon Valley AI integration platform helping large enterprises move past AI pilots and into deployment at scale. He was named CEO in March 2025, after joining the company in October 2024 as President and COO, following an oversubscribed Series A led by NEA and Ansa Capital.

Kimura has spent more than 30 years building, scaling, and exiting technology companies. He previously served as President and COO of edge-computing leader ZEDEDA, and as CEO of LiveAction, led the company through its acquisition by Insight Partners and subsequent sale to BlueCat Networks. He is also the inventor of MicroCSP, a micro concentrated solar power technology that earned him the Young Entrepreneur of the Year award.

A prolific AI commentator, Kimura is a monthly on-air contributor to ABC News Bay Area and has been featured in Forbes, Fortune, Inc., Politico, The Wall Street Journal, MSNBC, Fox, NBC, and Silicon Valley Bank's State of Enterprise Software Report.
